Veltins Arena tickets & upcoming events

If you haven’t been to Veltins Arena yet, you’re seriously missing out on one of Gelsenkirchen’s coolest spots. This place isn’t just a football stadium; it’s a full-on entertainment hub with a vibe that’s hard to beat. Imagine grabbing a cold one at the brewery right inside the arena or checking out the quirky museum packed with football memorabilia, yeah, it’s pretty unique. The arena’s hosted some big moments too, like the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, which really put it on the international map, and it’s also a key player in the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where Germany’s matches lit up the stage. Oh, and the ice rink? That first got used back in december 2005 for a DEL ice hockey game, and it’s still a fun surprise for visitors. Accessibility is on point too, with designated wheelchair spots and companion seating so everyone can enjoy the action. The Südtribüne’s standing terrace is where the real magic happens, especially if you’re into the raw, energetic matchday atmosphere. Getting there is pretty straightforward, just hop on the A52 or A40 and follow the signs. Whether you’re after a wild concert night or a football weekend with friends, Veltins Arena’s got options from VIP lounges to budget-friendly seats, and honestly, it’s a place where memories are made. Trust me, it’s worth the trip.
